The 1.75-litre diamond-shaped jug is dishwasher-friendly and BPA-free. The lid has a handy loop on the back for quick removal. The blender's stay-put lid and lock-in jar also fit snugly, preventing unwanted leakage, but the jar can still be easily removed with a simple twist. Its built-in ‘soft start’ feature means the motor starts slowly and in a controlled manner before building power, so you don't have to worry about potentially dangerous spillage. There's also a handy hot foods pre-set option, which makes it easy to blend hot liquids such as soups and sauces. That said, we do feel the model could have benefitted from a variated speed control, in addition to the included pre-set options – something which is available on a lot of other blenders we tested. This blender has lots of easy-to-use pre-set functions, from crushing ice – which is always welcome when making smoothies – to pulsing, whisking, chopping, mixing and puréeing. It also takes on soups, sauces and baby food with ease, but it's worth noting that as the wattage output is slightly lower than some others, it can take a bit longer to process ingredients.
